Pakistan was founded with the fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of one State.
”We are now all Pakistanis–not Baluchis, Pathans, Sindhis, Bengalis, Punjabis and so on–and as Pakistanis, we must feet behave and act, and we should be proud to be known as Pakistanis and nothing else” ~Quaid-e-Azam.
Today we all have forgot the above quoted saying of Baba-e-Qaum and discriminate each other on regional basis. This discrimination is not just done by the common public but even by our government officials and political leaders who are administrating this country.
The point to consider is that we people our fighting with each other on the provincial issues and not coping with each other to solve bigger issues that will lead our country to the road of prosperity and peace. Instead of giving preference to those projects which are more beneficial for the whole country, the provincial authorities support those projects which are rewarding them and their province only.
Just talk about the Kalabagh Dam. The Kalabagh dam is a proposed hydroelectric dam on the Indus River at Kalabagh in Mianwali District of the Punjab province in Pakistan. The project has been controversial since its inception. Every province have different point of view and makes comparisons about the benefits that other provinces will get out of that and don’t consider the outcomes that this dam will give to our economy, on the whole. The massive energy crisis can be reduced to great extent and this will revive our textile and other industries, collapsed because of power shortages and results in high level of employments and will help to stabilize the economy.
We need to get united under one flag to regain our dignity in the world.

That was a good read though I would say that Pakistan has succumbed to a lot more than just regional discrimination. In fact, even before people start discriminating against each other on the basis of difference of regions, people discriminate within their societies on the basis of color, creed, caste, social status or religion. I believe that to deal with the issue of regional discrimination, we have to first deal with the issue of discrimination based on the factors I mentioned above.
It was one of the fundamental parts of our constitution, as quoted below, not including the various amendments and ordinances of course, and hence we should start exercising our rights and start following our constitution.
It is a shame that none of us has any knowledge of the very constitution this country's legislation is based upon.
"Therein shall be guaranteed fundamental rights, including equality of status, of opportunity and before law, social, economic and political justice, and freedom of thought, expression, belief, faith, worship and association, subject to law and public morality;
Wherein adequate provision shall be made to safeguard the legitimate interests of minorities and backward and depressed classes;" – Preamble, Constitution of Pakistan (1973).
