Wow. that was breathtaking!
Amazing job!
Eep. I am so proud of myself. xD And Amna of course. xD
*claps*
this looks really classy!
Yes it does. Great job with the designing Ayesha
The idea about Secrets and Rumours was really interesting, and from what can be gleaned from the secrets and rumours you featured, the readers thought the same and they found a forum to say things they can’t otherwise say. So kudos to Maryam and her team =)
Also loved the cover-story. Combining that short history of Marilyn like that was pretty cool. It was a very interesting read.
And finally, even though I am not a poetry person, I skimmed through the Emotions Translated section and did enjoy myself. So I guess the poetesses Iqra, Arooma and Hina are to be commended for that. Cheers.
I was asked for detailed criticism…
I will now provide it.
*flexes fingers*
What will I start with first? The Poetry I suppose? One word: Enthralling. I didn’t know Hina could write like that! And Arooma and Iqra did a spot on job, I loved their pieces!
The cover story on Marilyn Monroe was another surprise- she suddenly seems more than the blond beauty- she seems human. And wait, she wrote too??? THAT I never knew. I confess, I always saw her as the blond arm candy, who knew how dark and complex and simple and beautiful she really was? I think I see why Aneeqa calls her an ideal- I’m not saying I agree that she’s a role model, but she was one brave woman! This piece was definitely food for thought! Good Job Aneeqa!
Absence sharpens love- Presence strengthens it.
Truer words were never spoken.
The graphics were amazing. I confess, I was a bit wary of the monochrome idea, but now I see that nothing else could’ve pulled off this theme better.
And of course, to my budding Inklings, the winners of WriteOutLoud (formerly KC Inklings)’s write Fest: Congratulations! Your pieces were amazing the first time we read them to judge- they were even better the second and third time. Team iE’s graphic designing magic has helped them express your ideas even more effectively and has made them, if anything, better! I can’t wait for the next time round!
Kuddos to Creative Horizons! You guys did an amazing job and I’m sure you made Maryam very proud (If she hasn’t told you so yet, let me know. There are some benefits to being “friend of the editor” to quote one CE, ad one of them is the ability to act as a daily reminder of stuff she should do. HINT MAlice, HINT)
All in all, an amazing job.
The fact that my submission was the guest editorial did not even register. Nope. Not for a second. RR#5 was THAT good.
=D
I forgot to mention this the first time round, I will say it now:
To all those people who poured out their secrets for the world to read: You are incredibly brave, and I love you for it. Thank You! (Esp. you AMZ.)
Thank you!
And as for letting out secrets, let me give you out one more to serve the purpose of the theme and of letting out my story…amz is me
Thank you for the appreciation!
Thank you all for appreciating my work.(God,I can’t believe it actually got published!)
Im currently working on another poem, which will be out soon! Thank you all once again!
A brilliant piece I must say! and the cover story on marlyn was truly amazing!
Thank you
Thank you Amna and Noor
Everything, from the designing to the writing (especially the cover story), is truly commendable! RR has done it again
you guys keep raising your bar of standard… the cover and layout is awesome. loved the monotonous theme. i simply dont have any words for the cover story, i have read about Marilyn, her quotes n all, but going through her notes n poems brings out a totally new side of her.
this is my story by Aneeqa was really sad, its kind of a social dilemma that gossiping has become like a necessity in our life, we don’t even realize the damage it does. great job by Zeeshan Ahmed and Minnan, and the secrets and rumors section was rightly published in the end of the issue as after such enthralling pieces, u do need something to laugh about
all in all, another master-piece that was.
beauty in pain by Hina was something that anyone can relate with. it digs out old scars and lets u relish them in silence. liked some poetry after a long time.
chilling prose section
For years i have seen quotes by Marilyn Monroe all over internet but never got time to read about her properly. Thanks to this issue, i am a fan of her now.
Apart from that, the theme Secret and Rumors was amazing and a totally relate able theme. Loved all the write-ups especially The Rumor Train by Naireen Asim.
Hats off to the editors and contributors for presenting it.
Thank you everyone for liking our work! Especially thank you all for liking the monroe piece, I guess my aim of highlighting her life and making her true side known has been fulfilled, also thank you for liking my story people. Your response and feeback is what always helps us make RR better and better! Stay hooked to RR. And wow team! we did it again!!!
