Reality Romanticized: Inception to Conception

By Maryam B. Mirza

Starting the countdown to Ideas Evolved’s second e-Magazine, iE Publications is proud to re-launch Reality Romanticized, the e-Zine. Starting from November, 2011 this will be our quarterly publication, expanding the diverse readership of Ideas Evolved even farther. The following  is a message by Editor of Reality Romanticized, Maryam Mirza.

Notebooks full of scribblings and no-where to publish, been there? So have we.

Thus the idea of a magazine that caters to the poets and novelists of tomorrow. (Yes, we’re confident you’ll make it big some day.)

So there you a have it, Reality Romanticized, a journal dedicated to publish poetry and literary and artistic creations of amateur authors and artists.

So what exactly is Reality Romanticized? Allow me to explain why we chose this name. In the early stages of English Literature writing was something that only aristocrats and courtiers did. Then came the Romantic period, when common man took a pen in hand and scribbled away about his joys and hardships. At that time came liberation, a revolution and the world was never the same.

This is exactly what we want to do. Poetry and fiction is an obtuse way of talking about individuals’ experiences and the societies norms. And I’m sure everyone here is aware of the power of the pen.

The paintbrush too has an equal power and we value it immensely.

We don’t follow themes, styles, and set topics. Nor do we ever plan too, for these things restrict the mind and creativity needs to spill unhindered.

reality.romanticized@gmail.com is where you can send all your respective scribbling. And even if we aren’t able to publish something, honest, constructive criticism is something every one can count on.

Free verse, short stories, sonnets, odes, flash fiction, book reviews, opinions, lists; we are open to anything and everything, as long as it’s creative and has at least a little semblance to being literary.

I am weary of verbosity so this will be all. I hope you all will feel free to bombard us with any contributions, ideas, suggestions that you might have or maybe even a simple hello (a person can never get enough of those).

Oh, and anyone who wishes to pitch us an idea for a fixed column is welcome to do so at the above mentioned email address. We would love to hear what you have in mind.

We would also like to express our excitement at becoming a part Ideas Evolved. It is an honor.

The following is the first issue of Reality Romanticized published in July, 2011. Standby for a bigger & reinvented second issue in November, 2011 under iE-Publications.
