Zardari Emoticon on Facebook

By Ziad Bashir. The Author is a sophomore at Lahore School of Economics, and Chief Editor of Ideas Evolved.

Just when I thought, we have run out of ways to humiliate President Zardari further, Facebook came to the rescue *facepalm*.

The image used to make the Zardari Emoticon

I am still unable to wrap my head around how a man manages to get so unpopular that they make humiliating sms jokes, songs and A FRIGGIN’ EMOTICON after him. Whats so bad about an emoticon, you ask? You would know the answer to that if you know how to USE the Zardari emoticon, but if you haven’t yet figured it out – I apologize, but I cannot bring myself to tell you. As much as I laughed after I found out, its just too wrong. So wrong that I wish somebody would slap me every time I use it- which is a QUITE often.

WARNING: The Zardari emoticon is addictive. You might end up using it excessively to express distaste for someone or something – and enjoying it enough to need help getting rid of it.

I have been using it to get back at all my friends who have a quick tongue. But if you plan to use it to the same effect, I must warn you, some people may respond with a profanity every time you send them this OR they may end up taking it personally. “Why are you abusing me man,” is a common response.

I wonder how they managed it though. How did they manage to get Facebook to embed this emoticon in the chat widget – better yet, how did they manage to convince them to set this code for it [[ka***ay]] (asterisks used to make this blog-post more age-appropriate – but you can probably make it out anyway).

UPDATE (21-1-2012)

Ok, so the IT Manager Daniyal Shahid of Ideas Evolved has informed the Editorial Board that we are apparently all idiots. In our defense though, we just edit posts, HE’s the geek =P

“Emoticon sirf zadari pe nae ha, it works with facebook usernames. Like mein apna bi daal sakta hun.”

And then some technical hocus pocus about how to do it that we didn’t understand. I recommend you Google it instead.
